Ohio State receiver mocks MSU secondary on draft night
Trae Waynes was the first cornerback taken in the 2015 NFL Draft, but Michael Thomas apparently was not impressed.
Thomas, an Ohio State wide receiver who will be a senior this fall, issued a couple of suspicious Tweets right around the time the Minnesota Vikings picked Waynes, a Michigan State product, with the No. 11 overall pick Thursday night.
Was Thomas mocking Waynes and the Spartans? We'll let you be the judge.
"Zone6" refers to what the Ohio State receiving corps called itself last season, and the "No Fly Zone" refers to the nickname the Spartans gave their secondary over the past couple of years.
After the Spartans shut down the Ohio State passing game and upset the Buckeyes in the 2013 Big Ten Championship, Ohio State got revenge a year later in East Lansing. The passing game was a big part of the rematch, too, as J.T. Barrett threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns, including a 79-yard catch-and-run by Thomas.
Zach Smith, the Buckeyes wide receiver coach, also got in on the fun before the night was over Thursday.
