North Texas vs Florida live stream: Watch Mean Green vs Gators online
North Texas and Florida are both looking to continue their winning ways, and here is how you can watch.
In what should be a battle of “David vs. Goliath”, the North Texas Mean Green (1-1) will take on the No. 23 Florida Gators (2-0).
After losing to SMU 34-21 in Week 1, the Mean Green bounced back nicely in Week 2, winning 41-20 over Bethune-Cookman. Leading the charge in the passing game was freshman Mason Fine, who went 11-22, throwing for 108 yards, taking over for senior Alec Morris, formerly of Alabama fame.
Although the passing game did its part for North Texas, it was the running game that really made its mark. The dynamic duo of juniors Jeffery Wilson and Willy Ivery proved to be a two-headed monster in the backfield. Ivery carried the rock 13 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while his classmate Wilson carried the rock 14 times for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
On the Florida side of the football, they took care of business against Kentucky, winning 45-7. Luke Del Rio had a tremendous game, going 19-32 in the passing game throwing for 320 yards, four touchdowns and an interception with his biggest pass of the day being a 78-yarder to Antonio Callaway.
Running the ball was also a strength for Florida, and freshman Lamical Perine made sure his presence was known out of the backfield. Carrying the rock 17 times for 105 yards, he averaged 6.2 yards per carry. He also caught a pass for 28 yards which resulted in a touchdown.
This is this second meeting between the two clubs with the first one taking place in 1947. In that game, the Mean Green eked out a 20-12 win and because of this, North Texas leads the series, 1-0.
Here is the all the information you need for the North Texas- Florida game.
One thing to watch for is the battle between the two running games as both sets of backs have the ability to carry an offense. Florida has the upper hand on both sides of the ball, and although North Texas will put up a fight, the Gators should prove to be too big to handle and maintain their perfect record.
