North Carolina State grabs All-Sun Belt center as graduate transfer

Graduate transfer Joseph Scelfo, an All-Sun Belt center from South Alabama, will play for NC State in 2016, a source told FOX Sports Friday. He will be eligible this fall for the Pack.

The 6-1, 300-pounder has started 25 games in his college career and is well-regarded for his strength (450-pound bench press) and football smarts. He is the son of former Tulane head coach and NFL assistant Chris Scelfo. The younger Scelfo also took visits to Missouri and Kansas State before deciding on NC State.

NC State staff faced South Alabama last year and the Wolfpack staff got to see how good Scelfo was in person.
