No Shock: Baylor's running backs earn ranking as best in Texas in '15

Best in Texas.

The Baylor Bears will tell you the title comes as little Shock.

It's the distinction the Dallas Morning News has given to Baylor's running backs in its position-by-position rankings in the state of Texas. The Bears' attack, which produced more than 2,100 yards and 30 touchdowns last season for an offense known for its dynamic passing game, is led by returning 1,000-yard rusher Shock Linwood.

Linwood helped Baylor pick up where it left off in 2013 after Lache Seastrunk headed to the NFL. With the Bears breaking in new starting quarterback Seth Russell, the running game could become even more important as Russell gets acquainted with his situation.

The Baylor backfield is more than Linwood. It is deep and it is talented. Devin Chafin, a power runner, and speedy Johnny Jefferson, combined to rush for 900 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. Baylor will add another dangerous runner into the mix with redshirt freshman and former four-star recruit Terrence Williams.
