WHAT'S AT STAKE?
West Virginia tries to regroup in the teams' Big 12 opener after its Sept. 15 game at North Carolina State was called off due to Hurricane Florence. Kansas State is coming off a 41-17 win over UTSA and now goes on the road for the first time this season.
KEY MATCHUP
West Virginia WRs David Sills and Gary Jennings against Kansas State's secondary. The 6-foot-4 Sills can present matchup nightmares. He had 18 TD catches a year ago and has two so far this season. Jennings already has four TDs after catching just one scoring pass a year ago. Kansas State DB Duke Shelley has six pass breakups and A.J. Parker has four.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kansas State: Isaiah Zuber. The junior has a punt return for a touchdown and three receiving TDs.
West Virginia RB Leddie Brown. The freshman ran for 115 yards Sept. 8 against Youngstown State. West Virginia has interchanged four running backs and the 211-pound Brown came on strong after Alec Sinkfield injured a leg against the Penguins. Kansas State has the Big 12's worst rush defense, allowing 201 yards per game.
