Neuheisel: UCLA S Tony Dye out for season

UCLA safety Tony Dye will miss the rest of the season with a lingering neck injury, according to coach Rick Neuheisel.

After Tuesday night's practice, Neuheisel said the senior's nerve injury hasn't subsided enough to play this season.

Dye led the Bruins in tackles last season, but played in just three games this season before missing the last four. He started every game in each of the previous two seasons for the Bruins.

Neuheisel hopes Dye will petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt. Dye hasn't used a redshirt year.

UCLA (3-4, 2-2 Pac-12) hosts California (4-3, 1-3)on Saturday.
