Nebraska OL Jerald Foster out for season with knee injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Nebraska starting offensive lineman Jerald Foster has a torn knee ligament and is out for the season.

Coach Mike Riley announced Friday that the sophomore left guard was injured in practice this week and will require surgery.

Riley said Corey Whitaker would be first in line to replace Foster, but the senior will be having minor knee surgery and miss the next two weeks.

That means redshirt freshman Jalin Barnett and freshman Boe Wilson will handle the left guard spot at least until Whitaker can return.
