Nebraska Football, Wisconsin Kickers To Pay Special Tribute To Sam Foltz

When the Nebraska football team takes the field at Camp Randall on Saturday, one member of the opposition will be coming out of the tunnel with them.

Some Nebraska football fans might remember that Wisconsin Badgers’ kicker Rafael Gaglianone has been paying homage to the Huskers recently passed punter by changing his number to 27 this year. This weekend, he’s going to go above and beyond, and show solidarity with the Cornhuskers before the game.

247Sports reports that Gaglianone will be coming out of the tunnel with Nebraska football kicker Drew Brown as they will both be carrying Sam Foltz’s #27 jersey. Showing solidarity doesn’t begin or end with the beginning of the game on Saturday.

The Badger Nation reports Gaglianone is also going to be spending Friday night with Brown and members of the Foltz family at the Nebraska football team’s hotel. All of this comes during a season when there have been more than a few Husker opponents who have gone out of their way to show their support for the fallen punter.

It doesn’t seem likely any of those opponents went so far as to have one of their players hanging out with members from the Nebraska football team. Of course, Gaglianone is one of the players in the Big Ten that wasn’t a member of the Huskers that was closest to Foltz so it makes sense he’s going above and beyond.

The Wisconsin kicker is also out injured for the rest of the season, meaning he won’t be needing to prep for the Badgers’ football game against the Nebraska football team the way an active player might need to.
