Nebraska Football Gives The B1G Four Teams In Top 10

The Nebraska football team reach the AP Top 25 for the first time in years thanks to their win over them 22nd ranked Oregon.

Since that game, Nebraska has continued to win and continued to rise in the polls, When the AP Top 25 came out on Monday morning, the Nebraska football team had gotten all the way to number 10 in the country.

Thanks to that jump, the Huskers have now made an even 4 teams in the AP Top 10.  It also marks the first time Nebraska has been even close to this high in the rankings since 2011. The sudden move from being completely unranked to start the year to the Top 10 seems to show that while not all of the Nebraska football team’s wins have been super impressive, the national media believes the team is on the upswing.

The other Big Ten teams that are currently residing in the Top 10 have been there for a couple of weeks. Ohio State is the highest ranked of the quartet and is now in a position where the Buckeyes would be going to the College Football playoffs as they are ranked 2nd. Michigan is ranked 4th and Wisconsin is ranked 8th.

With the Nebraska football team now ranked 10th, the Big 10 has the most teams of any conference ranked in the Top 10. The SEC now sits in second in that regard with Alabama ranked as the top team, Texas A&M now sitting at 6th after winning over the weekend and Tennesee still sitting at 9th, despite losing on Saturday.

Now, Nebraska football fans have to decide whether or not it’s a positive that the Huskers have a target on their back. The team will take it’s newly minted Top 10 ranking into Bloomington this weekend to take on the Indiana Hoosiers.
