Monmouth moves past Cornell 48-23
Brandon Hill threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns to lead Monmouth to a 48-23 victory over Cornell on Saturday.
Hill was 20-of-32, hitting Thaddeus Richards in the first quarter from 7 yards for the first of six Hawks' touchdowns. The first half ended with a slim 17-16 Monmouth lead, but the Hawks (4-4) would pull far ahead in the third quarter, scoring three times on two Hill touchdown passes and an Eric Spillane field goal.
Kwabena Asante rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth to put the game out of reach for the Big Red (1-4). He had 171 yards on 26 carries, adding to the Hawks' total of 512 offensive yards.
