Mizzou great Roger Wehrli announced as member of 2015 SEC Football Legends class

One of the best football players to ever come out of Missouri received a marvelous distinction on Tuesday afternoon.

Former defensive back Roger Wehrli was recognized as a member of the 2015 SEC Football Legends class.

Wehrli had a fantastic football career on all levels. He was a consensus All-American as a senior in 1968. He led the nation in punt return average during that season, and broke a conference and school record in the process.

Wehrli was a seven-time Pro Bowler in the NFL, and had 40 career interceptions in 14 years playing with the St. Louis Cardinals (the football squad, not the baseball team).

His excellence on the gridiron led to Wehrli being inducted into both the College Football and NFL Hall of Fames.
