Mizzou DL coach Wilson leaves unexpectedly for Philadelphia Eagles
On Wednesday, new Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had a media session during a Senior Bowl practice.
Pederson divulged that he had indeed hired current Missouri defensive line coach Chris Wilson to the same position.
It's a bizarre turn of events for the Tigers and head coach Barry Odom. Wilson had accepted the position with Missouri on Dec. 21. With exactly one week until National Signing Day, this departure couldn't have come at a worse time.
I know they recorded the interview before today, but this quote getting posted today is all sorts of something: pic.twitter.com/npXk2eJQZT

Via the report from Yahoo Sports, Pederson was asked about Wilson's willingness to take the job.
"Just sitting down and talking to him. He wanted the position -- he made it known he wanted the position," said Pederson. "I came away feeling really good and comfortable and look forward to working with him for many years."
With Wilson's rapid departure from the program, one has to wonder whether letting go of famed defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski was ultimately the right thing.

It remains to be seen as to whether this will negatively impact Missouri's recruiting efforts for this class.
