Missouri's offense is struggling at a historic level

After multiple weeks of ineptness on the offensive side of the football, Missouri has officially hit crisis-mode.

Mizzou has lost four of its past five games, including the 10-3 loss this past weekend at Vanderbilt. When looking at the statistical output of the team in this stretch, it's truly shocking.

For the third-straight game, the Tigers failed to score a touchdown. In fact, Missouri has averaged five points per game in this span.

There's a serious deficiency when it comes to converting on third-down opportunities. Head coach Gary Pinkel's team was 0-for-14 in this capacity against Vanderbilt. Counting the losses to Georgia and Florida, Missouri has gone 3-of-41 on third-down chances within the past three games.

It goes without saying, but Missouri is in desperate need of an offensive explosion. Should this trend continue, its strong defense will get worn out. It will also lessen the likelihood of a bowl appearance in 2015.
