Missouri will not seek to play in bowl game, according to AD Rhoades

The Gary Pinkel era in Columbia is officially over.

Athletic director Mack Rhoades issued a statement Monday, which relayed the message that Missouri will not look to seek permission to play in a bowl game. As a result, Pinkel's tenure as the head coach of Mizzou has ended.

At 5-7, the Tigers didn't qualify for a bowl appearance outright. There have been multiple bowls added to this year's slate of games. As such, several 5-7 programs have the distinct possibility of featuring in one of these bowls.

Per Rhoades' statement, it appears as if Missouri will instead focus on finding its next head coach.
