Missouri State quarterback suspended against Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) Missouri State has suspended starting quarterback Breck Ruddick for Saturday night's game at Kansas State for what coach Dave Steckel called conduct detrimental to the team.

It is unclear whether the suspension is related to a Facebook posting from an unidentified woman who alleges Ruddick beat her friend's dog this week.

The school did not discuss the reason for the suspension, though the Springfield News-Leader said Saturday athletic director Kyle Moats supported the decision.

Ruddick, a sophomore from Marion, Arkansas, had started both of the Bears' games this season. He completed 65 percent of his passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns in the two wins.

He will be replaced by senior Brodie Lambert against the Wildcats.
