Mississippi State uniforms announced for Week 1

Mississippi State’s Week 1 uniforms for the 2016 season were announced on Thursday evening.

I’m a huge fan of these uniforms. Basically they took the best part of the last two years: the 100 year unis with the shoulder stripes, solid maroon helmet and stripe down the britches.

The stripe down the pants is the big change here. In 2015, those were only when wearing the gray britches. The white britches featured the rather large M-State logo which I was not particularly fond of.

To me, this is a classic type of look for Mississippi State. And I think it’s one we should keep for virtually every home game. I know there’s the annual black uniforms and that is what it is, but for the rest of the home games I’d be happy if these were used.

As always, Adidas keeps you guessing so you never really know what uniform combination MSU will be in, so it’s highly unlikely this one is used more than a couple of times. If I had my druthers, the road uniforms would be white tops and gray or maroon britches. Please no maroon britches with the giant M-State logo on them like we wore vs. Texas A&M – I really don’t care that much (yes, I know I’m writing an entire article about it) but those were the worst.

I leave you with episode one of “Relentless”:
