Michigan used the craziest formation to toy with Wisconsin
We’ve seen some interesting formations in college football recently, but Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines busted out one of the strangest looks of the year Saturday against Wisconsin.
The Wolverines, for no apparent reason, decided to line up for this second down play in a straight line behind the center.
The ball was not snapped with everyone in line — that would be an impressive illegal formation (doubling the five-men-in-the-backfield flag) — but it’s hard to say that it didn’t disorient the Badgers — Michigan got the first down on the play and scored the first touchdown of the game moments later.
