Michigan unveils depth chart full of veterans for opener vs. Utah

Michigan football might have some issues in its first season under Jim Harbaugh. Youth won't be one of them.

That much was confirmed Monday with the release of the first Wolverines depth chart of 2015.

If it reflects the lineup Harbaugh runs out to begin the game at Utah on Thursday night, Michigan will have at least 13 and as many as 16 starters in their fourth or fifth year of college.

That includes at least five on offense, where guards Ben Braden and Kyle Kalis, center Graham Glasgow, right tackle Erik Magnuson and fullback Joe Kerridge are listed as starters and three more are part of an "or" situation.

The latter group includes both wide receiver spots, where senior Amara Darboh is listed as a co-starter with sophomore Drake Harris on one side and senior Jehu Chesson is listed alongside freshman Grant Perry on the other.

Then of course there is quarterback, where senior graduate transfer Jake Rudock is listed as the possible starter along with junior Shane Morris.

Defensively, the Wolverines will have even more veterans as the whole front seven are in at least their fourth year, including end Willie Henry and nose tackle Ryan Glasgow. At the other tackle, seniors Chris Wormley and Matt Godin are listed as co-starters.

The school is officially listing coordinator D.J. Durkin's defense as a 3-4, and all four linebackers are seniors in "Buck" linebacker Mario Ojemudia, outside linebacker James Ross III and inside 'backers Desmond Morgan and Joe Bolden.

The secondary is a bit younger with safety Jarrod Wilson the only fourth-year player. He is joined by juniors Jourdan Lewis and Channing Stribling at cornerback while the other safety spot is claimed by highly hyped prospect Jabrill Peppers, who saw his true freshman season wiped out by injury after three games in 2014.
