Michigan State upped ante on Nike deal

Not long after Michigan made headlines with a huge new apparel contract from Nike, a new agreement between Michigan State and the Oregon-based apparel company has been discovered. 

MLive.com obtained the deal as part of a public records request, but it turns out it's already a year old. 

In 2009, Michigan State signed an eight-year, $12.4 million contract with Nike. Last summer, that was replaced with a 10-year deal with $33 million. 

That is a nice bump in revenue but still falls far short of Michigan's 15-year, $169 million deal.
