Michigan State sending 5 players to Senior Bowl

Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio revealed via his Twitter page Wednesday five players on his team have received invites to the 2016 Senior Bowl.

On the offensive side of the ball, quarterback Connor Cook, receiver Aaron Burbridge and center Jack Allen are heading to Birmingham to work out for NFL scouts, coaches and executives in January.

Burbridge leads the Big Ten in receptions per game (6.9) and receiving yards per game (110.4) while Cook is second in pass efficiency and passing yards per game (267.2).

From the other side of the ball, a pair of linemen will represent the Green and White: tackle Lawrence Thomas and end Shilique Calhoun.

Calhoun is fourth in the Big Ten in sacks with 8.0.
