Michigan State reviews another historic year of football

Despite a forgettable ending, Michigan State had another football season to remember overall in 2015.

The Spartans have set so many positive precedents in Mark Dantonio's nine years in East Lansing, it can be hard to keep track of all of them.

Fortunately, the school recently published a long list of reminders of what the latest MSU football team accomplished.

Many of the most notable achievements belonged to Connor Cook.

The quarterback finished his career 34-5, making him the winningest quarterback in school history.

Cook also finished his career with 9,194 career passing yards, a mark that bettered Kirk Cousins' school record.

Cook's 71 touchdown passes and 9,403 yards of total offense are also school records.

His top target, Aaron Burbridge, set a Spartans single-season record with 85 catches in 2015, and his 1,258 yards are the fifth-most in school history.

With 165 career receptions, Burbridge is No. 2 in school history.

MSU finished the season ranked No. 6 in both polls, giving the Spartans three straight top 10 finishes for the first time since 1955-57, and the senior class' 43-11 record is the best in school history.
