Michigan State Football: Weather report for BYU game

BYU comes to East Lansing to face Michigan State football and it should be a highly competitive game with plenty of scoring.

The weather should clear, maybe somewhat overcast on a brisk fall day in East Lansing Saturday — excellent Michigan State football weather.

It should be an intriguing game as BYU’s quarterback, Taysom Hill, is a senior who has thrown for over a 1,000 yards and five touchdowns on the year but he has, however, thrown six interceptions.

The ground game will be extremely dangerous for MSU, with the big Jamaal Williams. He has rushed for over 900 yards at a 6.5 average clip. BYU represents a tremendous matchup that might be difficult for the Spartans to overcome.

Here’s the weather forecast for East Lansing Saturday:

Kickoff weather: 55°F, 0% chance of rain, 14 mph SE wind (sunny)
Weather at game’s end: 52°F, 1% chance of rain, 5 mph SE wind (clear)

The weather will not impact the game, therefore, it will be a pick your poison for the Michigan State defense. Williams is a big back at 220 pounds and represents the most prolific ground attack the Spartans have faced thus far.

The defensive line is search for answers and I suspect BYU will run all over the Spartan defense unless coach Harlon Barnett has a crafty game plan. MSU will attempt to make BYU one dimensional, however, they can beat a team through the air or on the ground.

BYU is one of the most explosive offensives the Spartans will have faced up to this point. The MSU linebackers and defensive line have been decimated by injuries. BYU was already going to be a formidable challenge, but now it will be difficult.

However, MSU has in the past risen to the occasion and played to its opponent’s level and this may be a close game with MSU edging them out.
