Michigan State football logo ranked best in the country
Michigan State football’s Spartan head logo has been ranked the best in the country by Athlon Sports.
What’s the best logo in college football? Is it the Miami orange and green ‘U’ symbol? What about the burnt orange Longhorn logo? Nope, according to Jim Weber of Athlon Sports, it’s Michigan State football’s Spartan head decal.

This should be no surprise to Michigan State fans who have seen the athletic department try to replace the logo with a more ‘modern’ look and it was quickly shot down. The attention to detail in the current Spartan logo is what makes it so great and the proposed new look a few years ago was too plain for fans’ tastes.
Outside of their take on Michigan’s uniforms being the best in college football, Athlon Sports‘ reasoning for the Spartan logo being the best in the country is pretty spot-on:
Michigan State’s in-state rival may have the best college football uniforms but it is Sparty who can lay claim to the game’s best logo. The second-place finisher in Reddit’s recent logo poll, this Spartan helmet silhouette ranks supreme here because it’s everything you want in a logo: Striking but understated, strong but subtle and just all-around awesome. And after years of endlessly toying with the shade of green, Michigan State finally hit the jackpot.
Do you agree with the assessment from Weber?
Michigan State’s logo is followed by Texas, Virginia, North Carolina and Miami and the Wolverines’ block ‘M’ came in at No. 25 on the list.
