Michigan State Football: Injury report vs. Northwestern

Michigan State football faces a tough matchup against Northwestern this weekend but will both teams be at full-strength?

Through the first couple weeks of the season, Michigan State football was blessed with good health. No one was making constant appearances on the injury report and before the Wisconsin game, it looked like the Badgers were the walking wounded and Michigan State was avoiding the bug.

Three weeks later, the Spartans have a wealth of injuries to deal with. We all know about Jon Reschke who was injured on a non-contact play, which could be devastating, and Riley Bullough. The two linebackers’ absences have hurt this defense.

Will they be back against Northwestern this week or will they be missing, along with another handful of Spartans?

Check out the Michigan State vs Northwestern injury report:

Michigan State: LB Byron Bullough (undisclosed), probable; LB Shane Jones (leg), probable; C Brian Allen (leg), probable; DT Malik McDowell (leg), probable; OL Kodi Kieler (undisclosed), probable; CB Darian Hicks (hip), questionable; LB Jon Reschke (ankle), doubtful; LB Riley Bullough (shoulder), doubtful;  DT Raequan Williams (arm), doubtful

Northwestern: OL Connor Mahoney (undisclosed), doubtful; DL Xavier Washington (undisclosed), out; DB Keith Watkins II (knee), out for season.

The Spartans are just trying to get through the rest of the season and yet another couple of linebackers might be ailing in Shane Jones and Byron Bullough. If the Bulloughs, Reschke and Jones can’t go, this unit will be in complete shambles.

Raequan Williams is another big name who is unlikely to play and Malik McDowell is an interesting name on the report.

Hopefully the Spartans can get through this game against Northwestern with no more major injuries.
