Michigan headed to Sunshine State for bowl season

Michigan announced Sunday afternoon the 14th-ranked Wolverines will take on Florida in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1 in Orlando.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. and will pit a double-digit winner, the 10-3 Gators, against a team aiming to reach that mark, the 9-3 Wolverines.

Michigan has won three of its four previous Citrus Bowl appearances, including a 41-35 victory over Florida following the 2007 season.

The Wolverines beat Arkansas 45-31 in the 1999 edition and topped Auburn 31-28 two years later before losing 45-17 to Tennessee in 2002.

Michigan is 7-5 all-time against the SEC in bowl games.
