Michigan dismisses Dennis Norfleet from team
By Matt Hladik
Michigan senior wide receiver and return man Dennis Norfleet, who made headlines for his on-field dance moves last season, has been dismissed from the Wolverine program, according to multiple reports.
The news was broken by Nick Baumgardner of MLive.com, who spoke with Norfleet’s high school coach.
“Evidently he was dismissed from the team, Dennis informed us he was no longer on the team,” Dale Harvel said Tuesday afternoon. “Something about a disciplinary thing between him and coach Harbaugh. Whether it was academics or something internal, I’m not sure. He just said they had a disagreement and he was let go.”
Wolverines247 confirmed the dismissal and shed some additional light on the reasons behind it.
Norfleet’s status with the team has been in doubt for about two weeks now, as Wolverine247 confirmed that he skipped more than one of his final exams in April, leading to doubt about his academic status with the program.
In 2014, Norfleet led UM in kickoff and punt returns while adding 111 yards receiving on 15 catches. He also rushed for 64 yards on nine attempts.
