Miami wide receiver Brady to leave program
Miami took another hit at the wide receiver position this week as Tyre Brady has decided to leave the program.
The Hurricanes will enter next season having to replace seniors Rashawn Scott and Herb Waters and could possibly lose junior Stacy Coley to the NFL Draft.
On Monday it was announced that Brady, a 6-3, 205-pound sophomore, will not be back with the team next season.
Per the Palm Beach Post:
“I appreciate everything the University of Miami has done for my family and I,” Brady said. “I look forward to a fresh start.”
In 2015, Brady, a former three-star recruit from Homestead-South Dade High, caught nine passes for 112 yards and one touchdown and made three starts for Miami. However, Brady was suspended the final three games of the season as a result of violating team rules.
Miami first-year head coach Mark Richt said both parties agreed that a change of scenery would be best.
Per the Palm Beach Post:
“I have met with Tyre and we both agreed it would be the best decision for him and his future to move on as he is looking for a better opportunity to play,” new coach Mark Richt said in the release. “I wish nothing but the very best for Tyre as he continues to develop as a person and as a student-athlete.”
As of now, Coley is the Hurricanes leading returning receiver having caught 47 passes for 689 yards and four TDs and is followed by running back Joseph Yearby, who pulled in 23 passes for 273 yards and two scores.
