Miami places 10 players on preseason all-ACC team

The good news for Miami fans is that 10 Hurricanes made Phil Steele’s preseason all-ACC team. The bad news is that not one of those players were named to the first team.

Leading the way for Miami was wide receiver Stacy Cole, linebackers Jermaine Grace and Raphael Kirby, and punter Justin Vogel.

Cole, a rising junior, has been playing for Miami since his true freshman year in 2013 and started five games in 2014. Last year, Cole grabbed 23 passes for 184 yards.

As a sophomore last season, Grace played in 13 games and recorded 60 tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss.

Kirby is a rising senior who started all 13 games last year booked 54 tackles and forced two fumbles.

Vogel, a rising junior, had a strong sophomore season, averaging 42.8 yards per punt.

Landing on Steele’s preseason all-ACC third team was running back Joe Yearby, OL Danny Isidora, DL Chad Thomas and DB Deon Bush.

Quarterback Brad Kaaya and wide receiver Braxton Berrios earned fourth-team honors.
