Miami OC: Offense is '180-degree' change from 2014

As a freshman, Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya threw for 3,198 yards and 26 touchdowns. The question now is how much better can he be with a year of college football experience under his belt?

It’s a question Miami offensive coordinator James Coley has been asking himself all offseason and has led to him adding some upgrades to the Hurricanes offense.

“It’s fun,” Coley told the Palm Beach Post about his new offense. “It’s a 180-degree, complete turn. And Brad allows that.”

The Hurricanes held their first scrimmage of fall camp last week and Coley said he liked what he saw.

“I thought there were guys who are who they are,” Coley told the Palm Beach Post. “I thought Brad was who he is. He’s very poised, extremely accurate. I thought Braxton (Berrios) made a bunch of plays. I thought that once the offensive line settled, they started to show their potential. They’re going against a good defensive front, so early, there was an initial shock. But as the day goes on, they get adjusted a little bit. … I like the way they’re maturing.”
