McCaffrey breaks Bush's Pac-12 single-season record for all-purpose yards
With a 26-yard kick return in the second quarter against Notre Dame on Saturday in Palo Alto, Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey passed former USC star Reggie Bush for the most single-season all-purpose yards in Pac-12 history.
After the kick return, McCaffrey stood at 2,905 all-purpose yards on the season. In Bush's 2005 Heisman campaign, an award that was later vacated, he gained 2,890 all-purpose yards.
McCaffrey is chasing down Barry Sanders' NCAA single-season all-purpose-yardage record of 3,250. The sophomore sensation has rushed for more than 100 yards in nine straight games and came into the contest against Notre Dame ranked second in the country in rushing with 1,546 yards.
