Maryland vs. Purdue: Start Time, TV Info, Live Stream, and More

Maryland has certainly gotten off to a great start in the early stages of the D.J. Durkin era.

The Terrapins have begun the season by jumping out to a 3-0 start after wins against Central Florida, Florida International, and Howard. Maryland outscored their opponents 93-27 during the first games and didn’t miss a beat on both sides of the ball.

The story up to this point has been the success of the running game.

The Terps are currently ranked second in the Big Ten in rushing with 266.7 yards-per-game and 5.8 yards-per-carry. They only trail Ohio State in the rushing department.

After a bye week this past weekend, Maryland welcomes Purdue to College Park for Homecoming weekend.

It’ll be the first Big Ten game for both schools. The Boilermakers are coming off a come-from-behind 24-14 victory over Nevada at home last weekend.

This is definitely going to be the best quarterback that the Terps have faced so far this season. David Blough is the type of signal caller that can stand in the pocket and make any throw.

Blough has thrown seven interceptions already this season, but tipped passes have also played into that statistic. He’s also not afraid to let it fly and take chances through the air.

It also helps that Blough has a very dependable tailback to depend on in sophomore Markell Jones.

Jones is currently averaging 5.2 yards-per-carry and coming off a game in which he rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown. He’s a north-and-south runner that possesses a significant amount of power and quickness.

Maryland’s front seven is definitely going to have to be on their toes if they want to slow down Jones. Wrapping up tackles is going to be extremely important.

On the other hand, it looks that Perry Hills will be Maryland’s starting quarterback barring any setbacks. He was listed as the starter on the most recent depth chart.

Hills injured his shoulder on Maryland’s first play in the double overtime period against Central Florida on Sept. 17. Backup Tyrrell Pigrome ended up having to come into the game and scored the game-winning 24-yard touchdown.
