Maryland loses another receiver

Maryland lost another potential impact skill player this week with the announcement Juwann Winfree has left the program. 

Winfree caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns last season and could have been in line for a big role this fall, but instead he is the fifth receiver from last season's final depth chart to exit the program. 

Deon Long graduated while Stefon Diggs skipped his senior year to enter the NFL draft. Jacquille Vei and Marcus Leak both left the program after spring ball, leaving behind only Malcolm Culmer and Amba Etta-Tawo from the depth chart published ahead of the Terps' bowl game against Stanford 

So there are questions about who will fill out the depth chart this fall, but there is no lack of bodies. 

Culmer and Etta-Tawo are joined on the current Maryland roster by nine other receivers, including incoming freshmen Michael Cornwell, Jahrvis Davenport and D.J. Moore. 

Etta-Tawo caught 10 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown last season, when he started six games. Culmer played nine games and caught one pass for five yards. 

Also expected to rejoin the mix are brothers Levern and Taivon Jacobs. Levern, a rising senior, was suspended last season but led the Terps in catches and yards with 47 and 640, respectively, in 2013. Taivon Jacobs missed almost all of last season with a knee injury.
