Maryland adds trio to Terrapins football staff
The Maryland football coaching staff of new coach D.J. Durkin continued to come together with the announcement of three new additions Thursday.
Chris Beatty will coach the Maryland wide receivers, Anthony Tucker will handle running backs and Matt Barnes is the new linebackers coach.
In a statement, Durkin called all three "tremendous coaches who are really solid recruiters."
Beatty's past experience includes stops at Northern Illinois, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Wisconsin and most recently Virginia.
Before joining the college ranks, Beatty was the head coach at Landstown High School in Virginia, where one of his players was Percy Harvin.
Tucker is a Fresno State graduate who comes to Maryland after three years at Arkansas State while Barnes worked with Durkin last season at Michigan.
Barnes was a defensive analyst for the Wolverines after spending the previous three seasons at Florida.
