Maryland adds staffers, announces position changes

Maryland announced several moves this week regarding personnel and the coaching staff.

Perhaps most noteworthy is the move of Shane Cockerille to fullback. He was part of the competition to be the Terrapins starting quarterback during spring ball.

On the other side of the ball, linebacker Cavon Walker has moved to defensive end as Maryland continues to work on transitioning to a 3-4 defense from a 4-3. Walker was the No. 1-rated linebacker in Washington, D.C., in 2013 according to Scout.com.

Additionally, Edsall announced Bryce Bevill has been hired as director of player development and Cory Robinson is the team's new director of player personnel.

“We’re excited to add both Bryce and Cory to our coaching staff,” Edsall said in a release from the department of athletics. “Both men have strong and diverse backgrounds in athletics and will serve our student-athletes and program very well. We welcome them to the Maryland football family.”
