LSU's Leonard Fournette out vs. Jacksonville State

LSU running back Leonard Fournette won’t play in the Tigers’ home opener against Jacksonville State on Saturday night, Bryan Lazare of TigerBait.com reports.

Fournette is nursing a bruised ankle he sustained in LSU’s season-opening loss to Wisconsin last week and is uncertain for next week’s game against Mississippi State, Lazare reports. Coach Les Miles wouldn’t say whether or not the junior practiced during the week.

The Heisman hopeful rushed for 138 yards last week. He will likely be replaced by sophomore Derris Guice in the backfield.

Kickoff between the Tigers and Gamecocks is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
