LSU Tigers Already Reaching Out To Potential Head Coaching Candidates

According to a report from Scout.com, the LSU Tigers have reached out to Houston head coach Tom Herman and former Baylor coach Art Briles regarding their head coaching vacancy.

It was reported earlier by The Advocate and confirmed by others that both head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron had been relieved of their duties with the team.

Miles is one of the most successful coaches in recent memory and LSU history, and is regarded throughout college football as one of the top coaches in the nation. But, the Tigers decided to make a change, and they made the right call.

Les Miles is undoubtedly a great coach, but his time had clearly run out in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have consistently fielded one of the top teams in the country, but have been unable to consistently play for conference and national championships for quite some time. A large part of that is on Miles and Cameron, who together have found a way to not develop quarterbacks and misuse great offensive players.

It was clear from the start that if the program decided to make a change that they would look at more offensive-minded coaches, and the new report confirms that thought. Both Tom Herman and Art Briles are successful head coaches with offensive backgrounds, and at this point are likely LSU’s top choices.

We’ll have more for you as it develops.
