LSU opens as favorite over Texas Tech
Despite losing three of its last four games, LSU opened as a 7.5-point favorite over the Texas Tech Red Raiders ahead of the Texas Bowl.
This game essentially pits two polar-opposite opponents against one another. LSU relies on a staunch defense and strong running game, while Texas Tech puts up video game-like numbers throwing the football.
Kliff Kingsbury's team averages 594.5 yards a game -- with 389.7 of those yards coming in the passing game. However, the team also ranks second-to-last in the country in total defense -- just one slot above winless Kansas.
LSU surely will want to curtail Texas Tech's efforts throwing the football, while likely pounding the rock with Heisman Trophy contender Leonard Fournette.
