Louisville suspends 4 before facing No. 17 Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville has suspended junior tight end Jordan Davis, freshman running back Javian Hawkins, junior running back Malik Staples and sophomore running back Dae Williams for Saturday night's game against rival and No. 17 Kentucky for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Williams has rushed 22 times for 71 yards this season but has not played the past seven games for the Cardinals (2-9), who entered the rivalry game on an eight-game losing streak. Davis has played in three games, last catching a six-yard pass at Syracuse on Nov. 9.

Hawkins caught two passes for eight yards in four games but hasn't played since September. Staples recorded 18 tackles on special teams and at linebacker the past two seasons but has not played in 2018.
