Jarrod Barnes attended Westerville South High School before walking on at Louisville. He redshirted in 2012 before playing in 11 games with one tackle in 2013 and appearing in 10 games last season.

According to Scout.com, Barnes had interest from Northwestern, Rutgers and Georgia among others when he was a senior in high school, but none of those schools eventually offered a scholarship.

With Ohio State boasting two returning starters at safety, Barnes would seem like a candidate to help on special teams.
