Louisville Football Report: Is Teddy Bridgewater's injury a career-ending disaster?

There is a report that former Louisville football player Teddy Bridgewater may have played his last snap in the NFL, which we hope is not true whatsoever.

Teddy Bridgewater went down with a terrible knee injury during Vikings’ practice at the end of August. It was initially clear that the former Louisville football player would miss the entire 2016 season due to the severity of the injury. It was a huge blow to the Vikings’ team and an even bigger blow to everyone who holds Bridgewater dear to their hearts.

Now that the Vikings are about halfway through the 2016 season, there are some serious reports about the status of Teddy Bridgewater’s injury.

This is was Ricky Doyle from the New England Sports Network had to say in his article earlier today:

“Teddy Bridgewater continues to rehab in Minnesota and he is making progress. Nearly two months after he dislocated his knee, Bridgewater is making strides and Vikings officials are pleased with where he’s at,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday on “NFL Countdown,” per CBS Sports’ Will Brinson.

“But other doctors around the league know there are no guarantees Bridgewater will be able to return to the type of quarterback he was, if he makes it back to the NFL at all. “As one doctor who’s worked with NFL teams said this week, ‘If he didn’t make it back, it wouldn’t surprise me. This is a bad injury, about the worst knee injury a player can have.’ ”

This is terrible news for Teddy Bridgewater, hands down. It sounds as though people around the Vikings’ organization are happy with how he is coming along, but it’s very troubling that there are doctors who feel he will never play again.

In the grand scheme of things, football is just a game, however I hope that Bridgewater can continue to do what he loves on the field for Minnesota.

Bridgewater has always been a guy who plays through pain and overachieves when everyone is doubting him. If he is able to play in the future, don’t be surprised when he wins the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award.

Here’s to hoping for nothing but the best for Minnesota Vikings’ and former Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater!
