Louisville Football: Did the Associated Press get the week 8 poll correct?

We take a look at where Louisville football landed in the new AP poll and if they got the top 25 correct going into week eight.

The Associated Press released their rankings for week eight of the college football season earlier this afternoon. The Louisville football team stayed at number seven in the country even though they played a tough game against Duke. For anyone of you who thought the Cardinals would drop this week, then now you can take a breath and relax.

The Associated Press actually did a very good job of getting this week’s poll correct. One specific team dropped a spot in the top five and one other top ten team dropped way down in the rankings.

Here is the top ten going into week eight, according to the Associated Press:

How about the the Big-Ten teams dominating the top ten this week. Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Wisconsin are all in the top ten teams this week. They are all playing great football and good for the AP noticing that the Badgers should still be in the top ten, despite their two losses to Ohio State and Michigan.

There was some good news for the Louisville football program this week as Houston and Florida State are looking to sneak back into the top ten. The Cougars moved up to the 11th spot and the Seminoles moved up to the 13th spot. It looks as though the November Match-up between the Cards and Cougars could be a top ten match-up after all.

I think the Associated Press did a great job of looking at each team, despite their records. Louisville football is still in great shape for the 2016 season.
