Louisville DE: Clemson can expect some 'drunk, crazy fans'

Louisville will host Clemson in both teams’ Atlantic Coast Conference opener Thursday night and Cardinals star defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins said the Tigers can expect a lot of “drunk, crazy fans.”

Rankins, a Georgia native, was recruited by Clemson before heading to Louisville and said the atmosphere will be intense during Thursday night’s matchup between the Cardinals (0-2, 0-0) and the No. 11 Tigers (2-0, 0-0).

“I think them coming in and having the game at our stadium and getting a taste of what our crowd atmosphere is like, I think that will be fun,” Rankins told Tigernet. “We will be in front of our home crowd and I think it will be crazy. I know Clemson will travel well, and I know we will pack the stadium as much as we can.”

Once the Tigers get there, they can expect to be greeted by an energized Louisville fan base.

“They can expect some drunk, crazy fans. It’s going to happen,” Rankins told Tigernet. “Fans will be talking trash and it will be loud. When third downs come, it’s going to be loud, just like it was at Clemson. I expect equal noise.”
