Lamar Jackson shredded Boston College with another Heisman-worthy effort
Lamar Jackson is showing no signs of a slump as he continues to bolster his Heisman Trophy candidacy. In fact, his stats are getting even more ridiculous.
The Louisville QB passed for 174 yards and four TDs in the first half against Boston College on Saturday, while rushing for 116 yards and one score. With a 35-0 lead, the Cardinals removed Jackson from the game with more than two minutes left in the first half because of an arm cramp.
He returned for the third quarter and ran for two more TDs (13 yards, 53 yards), resulting in his third game this season with at least seven TDs. With Louisville comfortably ahead 52-7, Jackson finally was replaced by backup Kyle Bolin -- after passing for 231 passing yards and rushing for 185 yards.
The latest highlight-reel performance began with this 69-yard TD run:
These latest heroics bring Jackson's season TD total to a ridiculous 45 (26 passing, 19 rushing). On Saturday, Jackson also became the first Louisville QB to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.
