Kraemer has 4 TD tosses in Drake's 42-25 win over Valparaiso
VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Grant Kraemer threw four touchdown passes and Drake beat Valparaiso 42-25 on Saturday.
Kraemer was 21-of-34 passing for 240 yards including a pair of scores to Zach DeLeon just over a minute apart early in the fourth quarter to extend the Bulldogs' lead to 35-10.
Chris Duncan responded with touchdown passes to Bailey Gessinger and Parker Fox to get within 10 with but he was picked off by Sean Lynch, who returned it 38 yards to seal the victory with 3:28 remaining as the teams combined for 36 points in the final period.
Kraemer also threw touchdown passes to Mitch McFarlane and Steven Doran in the first half that ended with Drake (5-2, 4-1 Pioneer Football League) ahead 21-3.
Drew Lauer rushed for 116 yards on 31 carries and a touchdown for Drake.
Duncan was 21 of 44 with 302 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions for the Crusaders (1-7, 1-4), who have lost 15 straight to Drake, with their last victory over the Bulldogs coming in 2003.
