Kent State runs past Miami (Ohio)

Trayion Durham rushed for 109 yards and a score to lead Kent State to a 24-6 win over MAC East rival Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday night.

Malcolm Pannell's interception with 5:27 left crushed Miami's thoughts of a late comeback.

Miami (Ohio) took an early 3-0 lead after Kent State's (3-8, 2-5 MAC) fake punt attempt failed at its own 29-yard line, and the RedHawks capitalized. On Kent State's next possession, Durham capped a nine-play, 61-yard drive with a 2-yard scamper. The Golden Flashes added a 1-yard TD in the second quarter and a 20-yard score by Dri Archer in the third.

It was senior day at Kent State, as sixteen seniors played their final game at Dix Stadium. The Golden Flashes outgained Miami (Ohio) 447-176. Archer finished with 83 yards on 12 carries.

Miami (Ohio) (0-10) still leads the all-time series at 46-15, and 22-8 at Kent.
