K-State's Hubener, Cook connect to outlast Louisiana Tech in 3OT
Kansas State is going to have to figure out an identity on the fly after losing its starting quarterback in Week 1. The Wildcats will feel a lot better delving into that issue this week with a triple-overtime win over Louisiana Tech than lamenting an unexpected loss.
Backup-turned-starting quarterback Joe Hubener, who until last week had never started a game at quarterback at any level, threw three touchdown passes, including a 31-yarder to Kody Cook in the third overtime period to pull out the 39-33 win Saturday in Manhattan, Kan.
Cook also had another gorgeous touchdown catch earlier in the game.
