Justin Combs caught in the middle after Diddy's arrest at UCLA
Justin Combs made a splash when he signed to play for UCLA. Not because of his football accolades, but because of his last name. He's the son of hip hop mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, who on Monday was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on a UCLA assistant football coach.
The headlines went wild when Justin for his 16th birthday received a $360,000 Maybach as a present from his father.
Justin made more news when he was offered a full-ride scholarship to UCLA, drawing the ire of many who wondered why Diddy himself didn't just pay for his son's education at a public school. After all, Diddy can afford it.
Justin, a junior defensive back, has hardly seen any real action on the field, and as Zach Helfand at the Los Angeles Times points out, Justin "was a long shot to crack the two-deep depth chart. Given UCLA's highly rated recruiting class, which included four defensive backs, playing time could remain scarce."
And once again, Justin -- through no fault of his own -- makes headlines for all the wrong reasons.
