JUCO running back Mark Thompson commits to the Gators
The Florida Gators have picked up yet another commitment with the pledge of Dodge City Community College running back Mark Thompson.
Thompson had offers from Alabama, Arizona State and Louisville among others.
According to Gator Country, Thompson plans to enroll early and arrive on campus in January.
“Being a Gator has a lot of huge pluses. Plus I’ve always wanted to be a Gator,” Thompson said. “When I first got the offer I didn’t want to rush into things because I wanted to make sure Florida was the right fit for me and now I believe it is.”
The running back now plans to end his recruitment: “I’m solid to my commitment to Florida,” Thompson said. “I’m going to try and take an unofficial visit this summer and see the scenery and all of that. I’ll make my first official visit to Florida in November after my season is over up here.”
Jim McElwain and the Gators are on a bit of a role on the recruiting trail, as they now currently have 11 pledges for their 2016 recruiting class.
