Jim Harbaugh says new look was inspired by Ohio State legend Woody Hayes
Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines will climb to second in the national rankings after a dominant win over Illinois on the same day that rival Ohio State was stunned by Penn State on the road.
Harbaugh debuted a new look on the sideline, coaching the game while wearing a pair of retro-looking eyeglasses. He explained after the game that it was a "tip of the cap" to three people in particular, including an Ohio State icon.
"This style in particular is a tip of the cap, a nod to Woody Hayes, to Michael Douglas in the movie "Falling Down" and also a tip of the cap to Malcolm X. In honor of those three men."
Harbaugh nailed it.
Michigan CB Jourdan Lewis said Harbaugh even changed his khakis.
Via ESPN:
"He seems likes he's trying to get a little more swagger. I don't know what's going on. He changed the khakis, too."
