Jeske throws 3 TD passes in Dayton's 31-16 win over Butler

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Alex Jeske threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns and Dayton won its fourth straight with a 31-16 victory over Butler on Saturday.

Jeske, intercepted once, rushed for another 54 yards and Jack Euritt caught eight passes for a 136 yards, both career highs, and a score for the Flyers (6-2, 4-1 Pioneer), who led 28-3 at halftime.

Jeske threw scoring passes of 24 yards to Euritt and 23 to Ryan Skibinski in the first quarter and added a 15-yarder to Ian Palin in the second quarter.

Dayton only had a 384-359 yardage edge in total offense over Butler (3-5, 1-4), but the Flyers made two interceptions and recovered a fumble. The victory assured the Flyers of their 38th winning season in the last 39 years.

The game was delayed with about seven minutes left in the second quarter waiting for an ambulance to transport Bulldogs defensive tackle Jordan Ransone to a hospital after a leg injury. The teams went to their locker rooms and used the delay as their halftime before continuing play.
